Question 3 – Why is Campaign influence requires feature activation not true too? I understand that ROI is only calculated off of one Campaign, but wouldn’t this feature assist with Opportunities being tagged?

I just went thru these few weeks back. As of now (Summer17/Winter18) , on your org (Mine is DE) your user must:

      1 – have the Marketing User box checked under the user profile;
      2 – enable Campaign Influence on the Campaign object;
3 – edit the Permission Set License Assignments under the same user profile, there should be a
CRM User box that you need to check enabled,
4 – create a permission set (any name) with enabled “Campaign Influence” option and assign to
      your user profile.

After all of this is done, you can start to play with Campaign Influences.

      @John:

Any chances that we could add images to these postings? Would help a lot.

      • JohnCoppedge December 22, 2017 at 8:30 pm #

Yeah lots of images being added on the new version. Details to follow. Feature activation is not required as you can turn it on through configuration (feature activation means that you have to raise a case with Salesforce)

you should relook at this question because with account M:M relation with contact can be enabled now and that would actually be the right way if you need that functinonality

    Question nr 1.
I pick option nr 4, Opportunity contact role and it gave me an uncorrect answer when i submit the quiz and the right answer should be nr 4.
    Please correct this

    • JohnCoppedge August 17, 2016 at 2:27 pm #

This question is correct. Account contact roles is what you would use as this question relates to the account, not opportunity.

FWIW: Enabled in Setup/Account/Account Settings/Contacts to Multiple Accounts Settings/Allow users to relate a contact to multiple accounts check box

RE: Account Contact Relationships- the access is derived from Account and Contact so the ability to modify a relationship record requires the user to have the following access:

Object Level Access (CRUD): Read on Account object and Edit on Contact object
Record Level Access (Sharing): Read on Account record and Write on Contact record
    -MG

    • JohnCoppedge July 18, 2016 at 11:26 am #

Thanks- will take a look at materials for next release. I suspect this is just a change in the ui and not the data model. Eg you probably still have one primary account per contact with a join table on the secondary account relationships.

  5. magonzalez July 15, 2016 at 9:57 pm #

As of Summer16, AccountContactRelationship allows many: many for Contacts and Accounts, and is more “customizable” & feature-rich than Contact Role

    Question 5:

OWD for Opportunities is private, so how come ” Enable account teams and establish teams as appropriate on each account record.” is the right answer?
When you add a member to Account Team, you may or may not grant access to Opportunities and Cases, therefore, I thought “Use manual sharing to provide opportunity access.” was the correct answer.

    Thanks

    • JohnCoppedge June 13, 2016 at 10:13 am #

The same is true for manual account sharing- however, account teams are specifically designed to meet this type of use case.

Question 4. – In the answer clarification section.

I believe that Products can also be coupled with Orders. – New in ’14.

  8. Christine Wong March 30, 2015 at 12:45 am #

Hi John, for Q5, just to add on from my question.. I understand option 3 account teams is best but why not sharing rule as well? How do we know which scenario to use Account Teams or Sharing rules?

    • JohnCoppedge March 30, 2015 at 1:44 pm #

This phrase ” Accounts are strategically managed by several users” – this implies that the decision making process is managed manually, and would be difficult to put into a sharing rule.

  9. Christine Wong March 30, 2015 at 12:42 am #

Hi John, for Q5, why can’t we use criteria-based sharing rule, i.e. option 1 as well?

  10. Flavia Mich March 14, 2015 at 5:27 am #

For questions no. 4 from quiz, I would think that opportunities must also be associated with Products and Price Books. Am I wrong?

    • JohnCoppedge March 15, 2015 at 5:14 pm #

You are correct – use of the opportunity line item is implied but not explicitly stated.

There isn’t a button to start the quiz. I am using Safari.

  12. Vasu Sanghani January 6, 2015 at 8:05 pm #

I am unable to find how to user account contact role?

  13. x x December 14, 2014 at 4:30 pm #

    Hi John,

picklist values in question 2 should read:
    1-10
    11-100
    101-1000 (was 100-1000)
    1001+

  14. Alexander Goodman December 4, 2014 at 2:41 pm #

Just to let you know, the Exams no longer have a ‘tick all that apply’ question type like question 4. Only single or multiple choice and it always says how many are needed.

    • JohnCoppedge December 5, 2014 at 3:38 am #

Yep – these are knowledge checks more than practice questions, the practice exam at the end does not include these type of questions.

  15. David Dudek November 6, 2014 at 2:41 am #

    Hi John –

On the last sentence of question 5, it reads: “implemented in Salesforce?” but there is a random 2010 overlayed in the word implemented

    • JohnCoppedge November 6, 2014 at 9:37 pm #

Thanks David – assuming you are on a mac and/or using Safari? Seems to be an issue that I think I will have a resolution for shortly.

  16. Amar Shahzad January 7, 2014 at 9:33 am #

    Hi,
I have paid the 40USD, and have upgraded my account today. For some reason I only see 5 questions in this quiz, however I can read from the comments that there are many other questions – why is it that I can not see the other questions?

    • JohnCoppedge January 7, 2014 at 4:48 pm #

Hi Amar, there are only 5 questions in this quiz – you’re getting the correct content.

  17. ERIN RYAN December 15, 2013 at 7:06 pm #

    Hi,
I cannot active the quiz. I’m logged in , but nothing seems to work.

    • JohnCoppedge December 16, 2013 at 3:42 pm #

Are you still having problems with this? The site appears to work correctly, and I have heard otherwise from other users.

  18. Jacek May 16, 2013 at 11:00 pm #

Question 3 I answered 1,2,4; correct answers are 1,2,5. Error message received, but the total shows that I answered 3 of 5 correct.

    • JohnCoppedge May 17, 2013 at 12:30 am #

For Question 3: 1,2,4 is correct (5 is incorrect; it does not require feature activation). Just took the quiz and it appears to display correctly for me… does that clarify?

      • Eugenio Angelillo July 31, 2015 at 5:08 pm #

        Hi john
regarding question 5 I read in your guide regarding the “Automatic Campaign association” that the first step is to have the Campaign influence enabled. I understood this in a way that the Campaign Influence feature needs to be enabled (i.e. answer 5) A m i wrong? And if I’m wrong what exactly menas what you write there?
        Thanks

        • JohnCoppedge August 5, 2015 at 2:16 am #

‘feature activation’ refers to raising a case with salesforce.com to turn on the feature (versus something you can easily turn on yourself through simple configuration)

          • alvaro.mattos@sottama.com March 22, 2017 at 7:19 pm #

Good point, I lived the same dilemma. Thank you, now it’s clear.

      • CarlosSiqueira June 10, 2016 at 6:55 pm #

On Developer Edition Summer 16, you must to enable Campaign Influence, Setup> Campaigns> Campaign Influence> Enabled/Disabled.

Are you implying that “activation” is when you need to contact Salesforce like multi currency?

        Thanks

        • CarlosSiqueira June 10, 2016 at 6:57 pm #

Never mind, just found your reply confirming what I thought.

    • Allison Raaker February 24, 2015 at 4:29 pm #

This is happening to me as well.
