Question 2 – Doesn’t Data.com require additional licensing or fee? I wouldn’t consider this an action, unless the feature has been activated within the org.

The duplicate management piece of Data.com is now free and does not require a license- however, this is a relatively new inclusion. You are correct that even duplicate management used to require a separate fee. Good Q!

    John:

I found the following article that shows how workflow can be used to prevent duplicate record creation.

    Can you pl. clarify/confirm?

      Hi Munira,

Nice find- I’ve actually used this strategy before. However, it requires an EXACT match (no fuzzy logic) which is not appropriate for contact information. You also can’t span objects (e.g. check leads and contacts at the same time).

Add ‘check all that apply’ to Q1

What is the purpose of the AppExchange? Choose 2 answers.
    – customers can share and install apps published by Salesforce partners
    – support users can install the Service Cloud console custom app
    – partners can download accounts and contacts to collaborate on sales deals
    – admins can download and customize pre-built

John I had the question today in the exam.

I researched the answers to the aforementioned question; they are:

Customer can share and install apps published by Salesforce partners
Admin can download and customize pre-built Apps

I got really confused, in some websites I saw the answers as following:
-customers can share and install apps published by Salesforce partners
-support users can install the Service Cloud console custom app

and in some websites like your answer,
        now, I`m in doubt between
-support users can install the Service Cloud console custom app
        and
-Admin can download and customize pre-built Apps

I believe Munira is right. Did this question appear on the actual Salesforce exam or within a practice test on another website?

The service cloud custom console app is something you can create without the appexchange – try it in your dev org.

I believe Q1 needs to be rephrased. It says that the use cases to evaluate the use of an app exchange package?

But the answers mentioned are the use cases itself for the package and not for evaluation of the app exchange package?

Further , Why marketing automation is not considered as the use case?

Another use case (not included in this section) is to download the reports and dashboards too.

    • JohnCoppedge September 30, 2015 at 6:44 pm #

Which of the following are common use cases to evaluate the use of an AppExchange package?

Each of the answers is a use case, correct. Marketing automation is a correct answer.

Ditto! The syntax is incredibly misleading. I thought the question was asking for what you’d need to consider while installing an app, when the real question is essentially: what would you look for a new app to accomplish?

Ok I will take a look at rewording for the next site iteration… thanks for the feedback!

Question 2: Aren’t there apps in the AppExchange to help with Opportunity Management such as TAS which provides a specific application for Opportunity and Account Management?

    • JohnCoppedge April 15, 2015 at 2:45 pm #

That’s a good point. It is almost hard to find an area where there isn’t an app these days… will change the wording.

John – Thank you very much for always being so responsive. I passed my Admin Cert today. I am static. How long do you recommend before taking the advanced cert exam and will you be releasing a guide for the advanced cert? I am 100% certain your site helped me pass the exam!

I thought there is the Matching Rules feature (under Data.com administration -> Duplicate Management) that can be created on Lead object? that should help prevent duplicate records.

    • JohnCoppedge December 10, 2014 at 4:19 pm #

Yes data.com does now have the capability to perform duplicate prevention – although that is not part of the standard CRM suite (additional license).
